Natalia Trayanova elected to board of the Heart Rhythm Society
Johns Hopkins University proudly announces that Natalia Trayanova, Murray B. Sachs Professor of Biomedical Engineering and a global leader in computational cardiology, has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the Heart Rhythm Society—the premier professional organization for more than 9,000 specialists in cardiac rhythm disorders across 90 countries. Trayanova, already honored by the Society with its Distinguished Scientist and Douglas P. Zipes Lectureship Awards, is renowned for her groundbreaking “digital twin” heart models and AI-driven tools that improve prediction of sudden cardiac arrest and guide precise catheter ablation therapy, advancing care for patients worldwide. Her election adds to a string of recent accolades—including elevation to IEEE Fellow and selection to deliver The Physiological Society’s 2025 Hodgkin-Huxley-Katz Prize Lecture—and complements fellowships in AIMBE, NAI, BMES, IAMBE, IUPS, and every American and European cardiology society.
